I doubt PETA would have approved of Loki beard-wrestling a goat, but apparently it was all the rage in Valhalla. The lengths a guy will go to make a girl smile amaze me sometimes.

Not even the Norse gods of old were exempt from making fools of themselves to try and get a date. Of course, tying your beard to a goat's doesn't hold a candle to some of the stunts those guys on Mt. Olympus pulled. Transforming yourself into a swan or a big white bull (I'm looking at you, Zeus!) in order to get a girl is a step or two beyond desperate. And I shudder to think about the kind of girl who goes in for that kind of thing. These relationships never turn out well.

In any case, this is the fourth and final image from Loki and the Apples of the Gods (an Old Norse Tale Retold) by Christy Lenzi in the November issue of Cricket. Ony one of the many myths I'm chipping away at here. Enjoy!
