Welcome everyone, to Papercuts! Thanks for all your great comments; they're really appreciated. Erin, I'm gonna take a flying leap here and guess that you've spent some time at the Jersey shore. skee-ball indeed. As for what's in the holes, I'll let all y'all know as soon as I figure it out.

Great stuff. I need to know whats in those holes!!!
Love your style, I knew I was onto something good when I saw the ninja guy removing heads in the title image. The textures you achieve are amazing.
Will be checking this site again for inspiration.

Wow. Visually satisfying blog. Beautiful, textured art. This take reminds me of that book/movie "holes", a good movie by the way...

I think he discovered, to his great disappointment, that all the skee-ball lanes were occupied. Sigh, I guess it's whack-a-mole again. Also love the ninjas, reminds me of samurai jack an awesome cartoon.

I really like this one. It's very open to intpretation.

He's looking out at all the different opportunites he has and each hole would bring him to a new discovery. They could be different portals to different world.

Or, he has to pick one and something will come out of the hole and he'll discover what it is.

Or, his buddy dropped down a hole and he's annoyed because he doesn't know which one.

Or, he's discovered the result of a meteor shower.

Man I can be here all day!
Good work.

I totally thought of those pop up games too, maybe he needs a mallet. Like the perspective of looking over his shoulder and I love your header, very cool.
