The July/August issue of Create Magazine just slammed into newsstands with a cover chock-full of papery goodness. And a hummingbird.
The Create folks did a great job putting the cover together, and were a whole lot of fun to work with. Go here to see the original artwork and click the magnifier for full, eye-popping biggitude.

love all your work… I’m a massive fan of the ‘happy accidents” that appear when cutting out real paper as opposed to virtual vector paper (Saul Bass’ work is a constant wonder to behold) and that’s what your work has for me in spades! Your colour palette is also wonderful (wish I cold find all the papers you seem to have access to over in Japan!)… bookmarked for regular visits!
PS. many thanks for the kind comment on my ‘accidental killer’ elephant. So glad people like him!
PPS. I see you sell prints through http://www.shack29.com... I’ve been asked if I want to also, do you find Darren ok to work with, any problems, good sales…?

Hi Patrick,
Firstly wanted to say thanks for your kind words on my blog about my Illustration Friday: ‘Discovery’ piece.
Secindly, I’m so glad you posted a comment as it lead me back to your website and blog and I have now just been totally inspired by your fantastic work – especially this piece for the cover of Create mag.
The ocean/waves are beautiful as is the whole composition and the humming bird (I love humming birds!) – actually all of your work rocks – really beautiful stuff.
I look forward to visiting your blog and site many times in the future.
Cheers,
JonathanP.S.: As a comic book fan, I also especially loved your Hulk illo – another cool composition!
