A Happy New Year at Gallery kópis Tokyo

Happy New Year at Gallery kopis, opens December 14, 2008

Everything comes in threes these days.

On Sunday December 14, 2008, “A Happy New Year” group show opens at Gallery kopis here in Tokyo. In fact, it opens right around the same time the SCBWI Tokyo Illustrator Exhibit will be coming down. If you time it right, you can get to both shows in one day!

“A Happy New Year” (干支 エトセトラ) will showcase work based on New Year’s cards and the chinese zodiac animals. If you’ve been studying your katakana, however, you might have noticed a big ‘ol “etcetera” in the Japanese title. So really, anything goes. Should be fun! My presence at this show will be a bit smaller than at the previous one in August, but for good reason. The artwork from the previous week’s Christmas-themed show will remain alongside the 6 new artists opening this week. It promises to be an eye-popping holiday extravaganza!
