Nishi's Art is amazingly mesmerizing. The Spirit of Ancient Japan is present without denying the modernity of contemporary Art. Nishi's works are not the works one simply hangs on walls...they are pieces that inspire you, make you meditate or think...they are a "pleasure" to own...if one can ever "own" a work of Art.

Nishi's work is dark...like the idea of 'Guest shots'. Here's a guest shot from Roberto Bolaño, chilean writer, author of '2666' (if you have the stomach for 900 pages of outrageous writing and the time, it's highly recommended). This is a little excerpt on art from a short story, 'Dentist' from his collection of short stories "Last Evenings on Earth"...
"...I tried to point out that what had happened was an incident in his life story, not an episode in art history...my friend hit the roof...But that's where art comes from, he said: life stories. Art history comes along only much later. That's what art is, he said, the story of a life in all its particularity. It's the only thing that really is particular and personal. It's the expression of and, at the same time, the fabric of the particular...What I mean is the secret story....every single damn thing matters! Only we don't realize. We just tell ourselves that art runs on one track and life, our lives, on another, and we don't realize that's a lie." Great stuff, Bolañol is phenomenal, excuse me was. You artists and writers are a wonder and a curiosity. Continue creating and sharing. Art history in the making!
