The Raven

The Raven is a self-initiated project half way between illustration and what came afterwards. While working as an illustrator, I was starting to explore creating artwork for myself, based on themes and broad concepts rather than on specific texts. I was also playing around with more limited color schemes meant to evoke strong emotions. This is, I think, one of the more successful pieces created for this purpose, and served as a starting point for many of the artworks that were created after moving to Japan.
